I started wilfredo-dominguez.com as a way to express myself without constraints and limitations in both content and form as well as an open space for anyone willing to say something.
I am not a computer wiz. But I've learned enough of that computer mumble-jumble to put together my own projects and help my friends with their online presence. There is nothing fancy or sophisticated about this site. It is just a showcase of my own personal take on the world today. For good measure, I publish the art and work of friends and acquaintances, virtual and human, too.
The idea is not new. It was born a long time ago around 1981. That year, I was admitted to the Higher Institute of Foreign Languages. For the first time in my life, I saw the world and begun thinking and dreaming and planning.
Seventeen years later, in 1998, I left Cuba for good and my fantasies started to come alive. On April 8th that year, I landed in Miami. A week later, I hopped on another plane and headed for Las Vegas.
For most of the last two decades, I've been drifting between Miami and Las Vegas save for a short stint in the Keys sometime along the way.
I've seen the desert and the ocean and endured the scares of hurricanes and quakes, rain and dust storms. I've enjoyed the beauty of native America, discovered hidden gems in the middle of nowhere, and explored places miles away from civilization. I've hand-fed buffalos in Hurricane and the fish in Lake Mead. I've tasted the purest spring water at Zion and ventured inside a dead volcano. I've heard the Mexicans talking loud on the other side of the wall in Nogales and walked across the border to see what poverty looks like first-hand.
The last word. Be aware this is a personal project. My technical skills are not basic but I'm not a geek, either. I apologize for any bugs or errors. Thank You!
